Guide to Insane Membrane Achievement - WotLK

You might have seen a lot of people with "<player name> the Insane". Well this guide will help you get it!

This is one of the toughest and time consuming title to get! It might take weeks but its worth the time!

You CANNOT find the requirement for this achievement in the Achievement window as it is a Feat of Strength!

Requirements :

Bloodsail Buccaneers - Honored
Booty Bay  - Exalted
Everlook - Exalted
Gadgetzan - Exalted
Ratchet - Exalted
Darkmoon Faire - Exalted
Ravenholdt - Exalted
Shen'dralar - Exalted

Booty Bay, Gadgetzan, Ratchet and Everlook are clubbed under Steamwheedle Cartel!

Increase the reputation in the following order,

Steamwheedle Cartel > Bloodsail Buccaneers > Ravenholdt > Shen'dralar > Darkmoon Faire.

If it is the Darkmoon festival time (I will talk about it in the later sections), then go for it no matter what. Complete it and then resume with other factions.

1) Steamwheedle Cartel :

            Increase the reputation with the 4 factions by completing the quests from respective NPCs at each of the four bases!

note : you will lose reputation with Bloodsail Buccaneers while increasing your reputation with Steamwheedle Cartel! Don't worry, in the next section we will get back the lost reputation!

2) Bloodsail Buccaneers :

            The only way to increase your reputation with Bloodsail Buccaneers is to kill Booty Bay Bruisers. When you kill a Booty Bay Bruiser you not only gain reputation with Bloodsail Buccaneers but you also lose reputation with Steamwheedle Cartel! But refer to the following video to avoid losing reputation with Steamwheedle Cartel!

note : if you are low geared or a player with very less armor(casters), it is advisable to have a healer around because the Booty Bay Bruisers hit really hard!

Once you hit Honored with Bloodsail Buccaneers, STOP killing Booty Bay Bruiser as there is no use increasing your reputation with Bloodsail Buccaneers after that!

note : it is advisable to first get exalted with the Steamwheedle Cartel and then start with Bloodsail as there have been reports that you still lose reputation even after following the above video!

3) Ravenholdt :

           Their base is located in the North of Traven Mill (Eastern Kingdom)! Check the following video for locating their base!

Visit their base after becoming Revered with them! Until then grind your reputation by killing Syndicate mobs (only way to increase your reputation from Neutral to Revered, unless you are a rogue)!

Check the following video! I have found the best place where you have the maximum number of Syndicate mobs!

You need not have to wait for them to re spawn! After a full trip you can start over without waiting!

Once you have hit Revered, you will NOT get anymore reputation by killing the Syndicate mobs!
The only option to hit Exalted from Revered is to collect Junkboxes by pickpocketing the Humanoid mobs inside Blackrock Spire (so you need the help of a Rogue)!

note : DO NOT sell the BLUE items that drops in this dungeon as they can be disenchanted into Large Brilliant Shard, needed for Shen'dralar reputation!

4) Shen'dralar :

           This is the most time consuming faction of all! First you need to gain access to Dire Maul North by killing and looting Crescent Key from a Humanoid named Pusillin in Dire Maul East!

Check the following video for getting the key and quest needed to increase the reputation with them and other information about Dire Maul!

You need 1 Libram of Protection , 1 Pristine Black Diamond, 2 Large Brilliant Shards and 1 Frayed Abomination Stitching to complete the quest! So in total you need 12 Librams, 12 Diamonds, 24 Shards and 12 Stitching to hit Exalted from Neutral!

note : ALWAYS USE A MOLE-E(ENGINEERING) OR TELEPORT TO THE NEAREST HOME WHENEVER YOU GET A LIBRAM NO MATTER HOW FAR INSIDE THE DUNGEON YOU ARE AS  IT IS UNIQUE AND THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF ANOTHER LIBRAM DROPPING! YOU CAN ALSO COMPLETE "FREE KNOT" QUEST (REPEATABLE) INSIDE DIRE MAUL TO GAIN THE REPUTATION LOST WITH STEAMWHEEDLE CARTEL!

Check the following video for farming the Pristine Black Diamond! It is one of the rarest materials(not unique and not soulbound) and cost between 4000-5000 gold in Auction Houses!

Check the following video for farming the Frayed Abomination Stitching! It cannot be purchased as it is soulbound! You can collect as many as you want as it is not unique!

The final material, Large Brilliant Shard can be obtained from Auction Houses as it is cheaper or the Blue items that drop inside Blackrock Spire can be disenchanted into Large Brilliant Shard!

5) Darkmoon Faire :

          Unlike other factions, they appear only once in a month, for week's time! So whenever you come to know that the Darkmoon Faire event is happening, stop whatever you are doing and concentrate on increasing your reputation with them because if you miss the opportunity, you might have to wait for 1 month!

LIST OF EVENTS AND THEIR TIME OF OCCURRENCE

The Darkmoon Faire people appear in 3 places,
1) Mulgore, just outside Thunderbluff
2) Gold Shire, Elwyn Forest, just outside Stormwind City
3) Terokkar Forest, just outside Shattrath City (bugged with respect to warmane)

Check the following video to know more about the location of the Darkmoon Faire people.

You gain reputation with them by turning in Darkmoon Decks, Rugged Armor and Thorium Setting. Returning Rugged Armor and Throdium Setting results in a very less reputation gain and takes a long time to become exalted!
So I would suggest collecting Darkmoon Cards and forming Darkmoon Decks with them!

The Darkmoon Cards and Decks are either obtained from Auction Houses (very costly) or you could have a scrib create them for you! The Decks are formed as a set of 5 or 8 Cards!

When you are done with above factions, you are INSANE!
